2004 found owners Steve Ludwig, (a retired general contractor), and his Nicaraguan born wife
Yasmin Bravo, wanting to escape the stress and strain of life in the big city. Although
our hometown of San Diego, California is a beautiful place, we longed for a change of attitude
and latitude. Since Steve has surfed all his life, finding a tropical location with good
waves seemed like just the ticket.
We took a hard look at Hawaii and Costa Rica, but decided we could get more bang for our buck in Nicaragua. Turns out it was one of the best decisions we ever made. Steve's first trip to San Juan del Sur convinced him of something that Yasmin had known since childhood, SJDS is truly a special place...and so the journey began.
We purchased a home with a million dollar view in a sought after neighborhood above town and Bahia de San Juan. Here we start each day sipping delicious Nicaraguan coffee on our terrace as we watch whales breech and fishing boats heading out to sea. At night we are lulled to sleep by the breeze in the palms and the sound of surf breaking below us.
There is no doubt that the slower paced life here is exactly what we needed. The added bonus was the adventure that comes with it. Come visit us and see for yourselves.
